VU Cluster 2008 - Finale

Dearest faithful VU-ians,

Emerge has been really really great. Even though we did not manage to defend our championship this year, but I believe most of us have gone through a totally different experience this year. As pastor had metioned, this year emerge, the spiritual growth is really evident. I pray that the spirit of victory and unity will not end in emerge, but will be carried as part of our identities wherever and whenever :) Bring it back to your campuses! Spark revival there, amen?

Despite of the many challenges and difficulties we experienced (with things not being on our side sometimes), I am really proud of you guys for being strong, spirited, persevering throughout the journey. Truly it has been an honor to be part of VU with you guys, the dynamic, encouraging as well as strong-willed people. You guys have emerged as CHAMPIONS in our hearts. It is not about the number of golds we won (however I would not deny it is also important :P..), but the relationships and lessons we learnt throughout the whole of emerge. I have heard of so many testimonies about breakthroughs in lives as well as many new talents being unearthed...and I am truly proud of all of you.

Words cannot describe how encouraged I am seeing the growth throughout this emerge. The way you guys keep on practicing even when we are significantly quite behind other clusters, not giving up.

= The way POS jog in the rain chanting and shouting to build the spirit after going through discouragements and drawbacks.
= The determination of the Extreme Makeover candidates in resisting food and being so disciplined.
= The passion of the Fashion candidates in keep trying new ways and new styles countless times after receiving feedbacks.
= The spirit of the swimmers and track and field candidates fighting till the end, even though it didn't seem possible to win the other extraordinary sportsmen.
= The spirit of the footballers, captain ball and futsal players who keep on defending and defending despite of physical injuries and danger.
= The commitment and heart to stay back late in church to practice and to complete the props.
= The passion to come together and pray and encourage one another, the boldness to try new things. The courage to step out into a realm of unknown and do all you can.....

SO MANY THINGS.....*impossible to describe all :)

And it was such a great memory and impact to me, that the moment our Gold medal tally hit the number TEN (entering 2 digits) all of us were screaming like crazy. And the greatest memory was when even knowing we got the LAST PLACING, our spirit did not die down. We continued cheering on as a team, feeling the sense of ownership and pumping up the energy, being proud of our identity.

Truly from the bottom of my heart i really want to thank you and to really let you all know that I am so so blessed by all of you...thank you so much for giving me this sweet memories and wonderful experiencesI believe through this emerge, so many great and wonderful friendships and leaders have been built. You guys truly RAWK! VU RAWKS!

So champions, this is a blog for you...that you will always keep Emerge 2008 close to your heart. And as you look back in life, I pray that you know you have achieved something great, and something really personal. And these memories will always be imprinted in your heart...now and forever :) .... Let's do better and strive Champion again in 2009! =D
